We all have our ups and downs in life whether it is in our health, our work or our friendships. This can also refer to our spiritual life. Sometimes we are doing well and sometimes it can take a dip and we are in a backsliden condition. Genesis 34 describes such a time in Jacob's life when he was effectively spiritually impotent. In Genesis 35 we see the sovereign Lord bursting in on the scene and commands Jacob to embark on a journey.
